I don’t think I’ve ever seen Craig without his infectious smile.
You and Craig built a beautiful family together, All three of your children have a smile reminiscent of their father. I pray seeing those smiles throughout the years brings you all peace, and reminds you of your most cherished moments together.
He will be missed, and you are in our hearts.

My condolence is for the loss of a life, that was far too soon. This great guy should not be gone. I hope that the kids can keep great memories close in their hearts forever. I lost my parents at a young age, and the older I get, the more I regret them being gone.
I remember my cousin Craig from when he was the cutest little kiddo, ever. I truly cannot even write because I am so saddened by the losses of his mom, Linda, then one of the last best good 'ol guys, Horst...and now unfathomable to imagine...Craig.💔
We shared great laughs and private jokes. He will truly be missed. To all of you that made him happy and inspired through his life...Thank you. 💔💔😭😭😭 Hugs to all that share in this horrible loss...and prayers to Craig. I am so sad.

2012, LaCo.FD Forestry Camp 17/Camp Paige LaVerne, California
I had the honor and pleasure of working with Craig in his capacity as LACo.FD Forestry Assistant/Camp 17 Crew Foreman for many years. Craig had this infectious smile and enthusiasm for life and work that you recognized as soon as you met him. His knowledge and skills for leading, teaching and protecting the 13 young camp men on daily work assignments throughout the County of Los Angeles were second to none.
Not one to ever be shy or reserved, often you would first hear Craig before actually seeing him! He was initially intimidating to the camp crews with his physical presence, booming questions and demand for perfection in following his directions to them, but soon they were drawn to him for his leadership and understanding. They knew he knew and Craig soon became the most popular Camp 17 Foreman. I was often asked by the Training Crew recruits prior to their graduation that they be assigned to Craig's work crews.
It's not to say that Craig, on many occasions, didn't have to be reeled back in by me from time to time. There were many times I had to remind 'Z', as I called him, to stay within Fire Department and Probation Department rules and regulations during his instruction and management of the work crews even if it meant the job could not be completed as quickly. He was a tireless worker and seemed to be loved by all. His fellow Foresters at camp, Michael, Dave, Mark and Adam, I know, were all inspired by him, rallied to him and were challenged by him to the best they could be! And they were. As the Probation Department staff relayed to me, our Camp 17 Forestry program excelled during these years with Craig leading the way!
It was with great shock and sadness when I heard Craig was gone. My heart and prayers go out to Carrie and his kids for losing this fine husband, dad and man at such a young age and with so much more of life to be lived and experienced. All who knew Craig were blessed to have him as part of their life, no matter how briefly, and we are all better people having known him. Rest in Peace Craig! With much admiration and love from your 'Cap'.

I met and worked with Zim many years back at Camp Paige. I was camp nurse.
To have met him, is to never forget him. I remember him as ☀️sunshine in human form, always so cheerful, friendly and kind toward staff and minors alike. I even remember overhearing a conversation between two boys where they used "Sunshine" as Zimmermann 's name. That cracked me up.
I appreciated having a coworker like him, quick with a smile and uplifting words when they were needed.
I will remember him fondly.
God bless him and God bless all of his family and friends.
Sincerely, Nurse Veronica

This is the way we remember Craig, smiling, happy, and having fun. Craig was a regular at 19 st volleyball on Saturday mornings. He was always smiling, talkative, and funny. All the players really liked Craig. He was very competitive and very good. He was critical of himself on some plays but not on others who made misplays. He always was encouraging to all of us. He love the 4th of July and Halloween tournaments. We enjoyed watching Craig and Carrie family grow as they all came to the beach. He will be dearly missed by all the 19 st VB clan.

I was so sorry to hear about Craig's passing. He was such a kind and generous person. We met at Hoag hospital while we were both doing some healing. The gentle giant taught me the importance of giving blood regularly to help and save others. Heaven got a new angel!

My condolences to Craig's family. I first met Craig when I worked for Forestry as their Secretary III. When he visited the office, he always came in with a great big smile and we would often chat about fun and challenging work happenings. Craig, May you RIP. Strength to the family. ~ Lettie
