Craig's obituary

CRAIG DONALD WALKER

Cottonwood Arizona- Craig D. Walker, 73 died from emphysema May 12, 2024, at home under the care of Hospice. He was born September 1, 1950, in Phoenix, the son of Donald H. Walker and Betty F. Breedlove.

Craig grew up in Phoenix attending Creighton Elementary School and East High School.  Phoenix is where he began his career as a roofing professional, where it took him to several neighboring states as well.  Craig made many long-lasting friendships in the roofing industry and ended his career with Lyons Roofing… also making genuine, long-lasting friendships.  In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, talented musician and successful artist… actively including family along the way.

I think you could say fishing was a serious past time hobby for Craig and most certainly a competitive one. You could find him at a stream, river or lake, but his favorite was deep-sea fishing.  Anyone who fished with him learned early on that you better not out fish him or there would be HELL to pay!

Craig was also a musician. He often pulled a group of musicians together and performed at local venues. Craig played guitar, drums and enjoyed being the lead singer.

Craig had a passion for working with wood using natural and reclaimed materials to create his artwork which found its way into many galleries throughout Arizona and Nevada.

Craig leaves a void that will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents Craig was predeceased by a granddaughter, Mya.  Surviving in addition to his longtime partner, Yvonne Jackman, are his children Aaron Walker and his wife Lee Ann, Rachel Curtis, Travis Walker, Layla Halenka and her husband Alex, Kristina Britton and Lido Britton; Grandchildren, Trinity, Cole, Hayley, Dhillon, Cameron, Lily and Sophia; One great grandchild, Avery;  Brother, Richard and sisters Saundra and Bonnie.

A Life Celebration Service/Party will be held 11:30AM to 4:00PM, Saturday, July 20 at On The Greens Club House Located at On the Greens Retirement Community, 969 W On The Greens Blvd, Cottonwood AZ 86326 (GPS: 34°45'01.0"N 112°02'16.7"W)
