Craig's obituary
A native and lifelong resident of Ormond Beach, Craig attended St. James Episcopal School, and graduated from Seabreeze High School. While growing up, Craig played Ormond Beach Youth Soccer, sang in the choir, volunteered at pancake breakfasts and was on the Bowling Team. His foremost interests were aviation/aerospace and marine biology. Wanting to have a profession in both, he would tease about how he would have the best of both worlds—the sky & the ocean. However his ambitions were challenged when he was in an accident caused by a drunk driver, so he turned his interest to the medical field to “give back” the loving care he received by his caretakers. An ultimate discovery of a rare neurological disease sidelined his aspirations, preventing him from pursuing his dreams, yet Craig remained fiercely brave and courageous.
Craig’s greatest joys were taking vacations with his mom, Nanny & Pop-Pop to numerous islands, having a love for music, bike riding, rollerblading, swimming and a special place in his heart for animals. He had numerous pets throughout his life and cherished his beloved dogs. Certified in CPR, his skills once saved the life of his Nanny. By unselfishly contacting the FDOT after his life altering accident at the US 1 & N Nova Rd. Intersection, Craig was able to prevent future accidents as this prompted a total redesign of the traffic lights and saved many others from living life with injury as he did.
Craig had the biggest heart and was kind to all. He loved his family very much, spending time with them, making memories out of moments. He will always be remembered in our hearts for his beautiful smile, gentle ways, spontaneous silliness, zest for life and love for his mom. All the love he left behind will live in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be missed immensely.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by his mother, Kimberly Stickler, aka “Momeo,” Ormond Beach; his maternal grandmother, “Nanny”, Mary ‘Betty’ Stickler, Ormond Beach; his paternal grandmother, “Grammies”, Marjorie Pyle; 2 great cousins, Gloria Bizup and Nancy Lennon both in Fairless Hills, PA, and 2 second cousins, MaryLou Short, Springfield, PA and William T. Short III, Downingtown, PA.
He is preceded in his passing by his maternal grandfather, “Pop-Pop”, Arthur Downing Stickler & his maternal great-grandparents, Mary and Bill Short.
