Craig's obituary

Craig Lyle Lindsey was born August 27, 1963 to Lyle Frank Lindsey and Wilma Jane Lindsey (nee Korbe) in Denver, Colorado. He died May 16, 2021, at 57-years old, in Aurora, Colorado.

Craig was an accomplished musician. In addition to a lovely singing voice, he played clarinet, drums, banjo, ukulele, keyboards/piano, and guitar. He was quite adept at the guitar, and it was his preferred instrument.

He was an early and avid supporter of all things Apple and Mac, eventually becoming a highly valued System Administrator. The highlight of his long and illustrious career were the years he spent working for Lionsgate Starz.

He loved camping in all settings, especially in his beloved national parks. His favorite of those was Yellowstone National Park. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and had been an enthusiast for over 40-years. His most-prized bike was his Honda Goldwing. He also considered any time spent on a lake or river to never be wasted. He particularly liked the trip between Shadow Mountain Reservoir and Grand Lake on his pontoon boat.

Craig was a survivor of horrific child abuse, and it caused him to be somewhat of a late bloomer. He met the love of his life in his late-30’s, and was finally married to Sharon Lucas when he was 41-years old. He was always involved in the lives of his nieces, nephews, god-children, and the children of several of his friends. Children gravitated towards him all of his life, and he filled an avuncular role for many of them. He finally became an official father when he was 55-years old by adopting the adult child of his deceased best friend. Craig helped raise the child from her birth until she was five years old, at which point her mother lost custody of her children. It was quite the surprise when she re-entered his life after more than two decades had passed.

Craig is survived by his wife Sharon Lucas, his brother Darrell Lindsey, brother-in-law Scott Lucas (Jennifer), sister-in-law Evie Strickland, the aforementioned adopted daughter (her husband), step-daughter Rabeccah Lucas, step-son Marc Johnson, nephews Kenneth Ingle and Mark Lucas, nieces Genevieve McCutchen-Trujillo, Joncie Thompson, Taylor Vann-Lucas, Brandy Norrid, and Gabrielle Lindsey-Gossen, granddaughters Selina Curtis and Esteriyah Marcsdottir, grandson Ūrjíyah Marcsson, and countless other friends he loved and considered his extended family. He is preceded in death by his brother Mark Korbe Lindsey, parents Lyle and Wilma Lindsey, and his uncle Donald Korbe.
