How you can help
Hi. My name is Bethany Hansley. My brother, Craig Hansley, passed away unexpectedly around December 3, 2019 in his home in North Carolina. My brother was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. Our dad passed away in 2015 and our family has never been the same, but for my brother, our dad was everything. He never recovered from the grief of losing our dad. And in the remaining years of his life my brother was very depressed and felt like his life no longer mattered. He spiraled out of control trying to forget his pain and self medicated regularly. He was eventually diagnosed with depression and started to receive disability due to his illness. My brother longed to be with our dad and wallowed in his grief and guilt of how he treated my dad when he was alive. My mother and sister and I are all that's left of our family and my mother is a senior citizen on assistance herself. I looked after my brother and his finances and the expenses of his unexpected passing primarily falls on me. Everyone that knew my brother expected my brother to die of an overdose but at the time of his passing there were no drugs around him. We are still awaiting the results of his autopsy so we have so many questions and are looking for some type of closure. I decided to have my brother cremated because I cant afford to do more. I am only looking for help with the bare minimum of the cost of cremation and to allow me to bury some of his ashes next to my dad where he wanted to be. I would also love to be able to go to a near by ocean to spread some of his ashes in one of his favorite places to be. Anything I recieve will go to the very kind funeral home that were so generous to help me in this difficult time. Thank you so much in advance for any contribution.

No memorial events are planned
Craig did not want a funeral. He was a simple hard working man and wanted to be cremated just like his father. He would not have wanted any showy funeral that was un authentic. He always wanted simplicity.
