On January 20th, 2022, we gave birth to our son Cory Homun Yi. Although Cory was born with a heartbeat, sadly he was not able to take his first breath. The doctors at Sequoia Hospital did everything they could, but they were not able to save him. We told Cory we love him, we held him and kissed him, as he passed away in our arms that evening. 

Cory’s body has been transferred to Stanford Hospital, and they are in process of performing an autopsy. All the doctors and nurses involved are shocked, confused and traumatized by this devastating situation as well, they are doing their best to figure out what happened and to keep us informed. 

Once we go through the autopsy process, we will cremate Cory’s body. We are still figuring out some kind of memorial event so that our friends and family can have an outlet to grief together.

We are slowly working on our physical and emotional recovery. We feel the love and support from our friends and family. We will be delayed at responding to many of your kind messages, but know that we read every single one of them and we appreciate you and we love you all.
