Cornethia's obituary
Cornethia Lee, age 74, passed away on November 8, 2023, at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL. Born on May 16, 1949, in Chicago, she was a beloved resident of the city with ties to Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles, CA.
Cornethia, affectionately known as Pat to family & friends, was a vibrant, fun-loving woman of diverse talents and a strong work ethic. In her early years she was a professional model and was given the name Kamilah which means "the perfect one". Later in life she pursued education at trade school and worked as a security guard. She continued her education by earning her Commercial Driver's License (CDL), leading her to a fulfilling career with her trucking business.
Outside of her professional life, Cornethia found joy in simple pleasures. She was known for her constant words of wisdom and joyful approach to life. She had a deep connection with the water and loved sitting by the lake and ponds in the parks. She also cherished moments of spiritual reflection through her writings and expressed her vibrant spirit through her every day life. Her infectious laughter and uplifting presence made her fun to be around. It just felt good. She always had great energy and gave the best hugs.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Charise (Darrell Muhammad) Carter and Rashida Carter; her cherished grandchildren Rashad Carter, Najilah Muhammad, Jair Muhammad and Zaniah Muhammad. Cornethia (Pat) is also remembered fondly by her siblings Ruby Lane, Geraline White, Barbara Farley, and her brother Albert. Her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends
Cornethia is preceded in death by her mother Clara, sister Deloris and brothers Roy and Jackie. The family will announce memorial services at a later date. Cornethia Lee will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will be carried on through the memories of the laughter, joy, and love she shared with those around her.
