Corey (CJ)'s obituary
CJ was born in Miami, FL on June 3rd, 1988 to parents, Susan and Lawrence P. Calabrese. After graduating from Cypress Bay High School in 2006, he went on to Florida International University to study Business & Finance.
After graduation, he landed a job in the aviation business with the company Aersale. He remained with the company for the last 9 years and became Director of Airframe Sales for North America.
CJ met his wife, Elizabeth Cid, in 2008 through mutual friends in college. They were engaged 7 years later in August of 2015 and after purchasing their home in Pembroke Pines, married on March 31, 2017.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, brother and son, CJ also loved racing, golfing, being an active member of the FIU SigEp Alumni association, and being a disciple of the Young Adult Missionary Discipleship School that he joined in 2016. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
After CJ was diagnosed with melanoma in 2016, he NEVER lost his spirit. He never let cancer define him and continued to live his life to the fullest. Even when confined to a hospital bed for extended periods, he always had jokes to tell/play on others, tell stories, be a disciple of God, and continue to be an example of what true courage and bravery in the midst of great adversity is.
CJ's memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Elizabeth Cid Calabrese, parents, Susan and Lawrence Calabrese, his sister, Caitlin Calabrese, his paternal grandmother, Rose Calabrese, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dearest friends.
