Tribute to the late Contancia Kaledzi by the Global Evangelical Church, C-18
“Those who leave the scene of life feel not the pain of parting. The shock and pain are felt by those left behind.”
It is with great sadness that our Church mourns the death of one of its highly respected senior citizens.
Madam Constancia joined the C-18 branch of the Global Evangelical Church, when she moved in to stay at Community 18 Block factory. She took an immediate liken to the church and was present at most of our services.
She gave a testimony during one of our services and said that despite her age, she felt like a sixteen year old girl. That instantly earned her the nickname “sweet sixteen” and that made her one of the popular senior citizens in the church.
As the years went by, she however could not join us for services because of her health condition. Madam Constancia did not lose touch with her faith nor the church. She would periodically request for the Head Pastor to visit her at home and pray with her. Pastor and the leadership also ensured that anytime there was a communion service, we visited her at home and administered the communion to her. She would take the communion with joy and give us all an update of how she was feeling that day.
Madam Constancia loved singing songs from the hymnal. On the days we visited her, we made sure to sing a couple of hymns with her before leaving.
Madam Constancia, the news of your demise hit us really hard. We know we do not have to grieve for you – for now you are free. You are following the path God laid for you. You took his hand when you heard his call. You could not stay another day. You have found peace.
Rest Well in the Lord’s bosom, until we meet again.
