Constance's obituary

Constance J. Patton, a beloved member of her community, passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by the comfort of her family. She drew her last breath at the Houston Methodist Hospital, leaving behind a precious legacy of love and dedication to her extensive family. Born on July 27, 1940, in the peaceful surroundings of Owensburg County, Constance was the daughter of Dave and Laura McNeal. Her life journey took her to Fredericksburg, Texas, where she resided at the time of her passing. Connie, as she was affectionately known, was a devoted homemaker, a cherished pillar within her family. She exemplified a life of simplicity and grace, weaving her Christian faith into every aspect of her daily routine. Her nuanced understanding of faith was not grandiose, but rather, she found her spirituality in the kindness she extended towards others and the unwavering support she devoted to her family.  She leaves behind a large, loving family. Her children, Sherry, Linda, Cathy, Estel, Dave, Bill, Tom, Tim, and Misty, will carry her memory forward, instilling the values she imparted to them in their own children. Constance was also treasured by her sister, Barbara Five, thirty-four grandchildren, and fifty great-grandchildren, all whom she cherished deeply.  Her loss will be felt profoundly, as she was the heart of her family, offering wisdom and warmth that will be dearly missed. Constance was predeceased by her loving husband, her parents, a sister, Nancy Warthan, and brothers, Jack, Stan, and Clifford McNeal. Her grandchildren, Billy Joe, Bobby Joe, Sarah, and Jason, were also waiting to welcome her in her heavenly home. Friends and family will gather to honor Constance’s life with services at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Garden Oaks Funeral Home in Houston. Following the service, interment will take place in the serene landscape of Garden Oaks Cemetery. There will be a public visitation to celebrate wonderful memories shared with Constance from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home. In this time of sorrow, let us remember her kindness and the legacy of love she shared with all who knew her. May she rest in peace, forever remembered for the beautiful life she led.
