Connie's obituary
Connie L. Iler, 60, of Centralia, IL, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born on November 11, 1964, to her loving parents Evelyn and Adrian Iler, Connie brought immense joy and light into the lives of everyone who knew her.
Connie embraced life with genuine enthusiasm and had a remarkable ability to find happiness in the simplest pleasures. She had a special love for Pepsi and pizza rolls, and a deep affection for animals—especially her cherished dog, Happ-e, who was always by her side.
Family was everything to Connie. She leaves behind her devoted sisters, Denise Pierce (and husband James) and Karen Poole; her cherished aunts, Claudia Lowry (and Raymond Plaster) and Kim Frantz (and husband Rick) of Shiloh, IL; and her uncle Gary Johnson of Millry, AL. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephews Michael Pierce (and Tasha), Ryan Pierce (and Jocilin), Craig Pierce (and Nicole); and her nieces Kristi Watson (and Robert), Carole Fry (and Tony), and Jessica Saldana (and Brian). Connie is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear family friends who will miss her kindness and vibrant spirit.
Connie found joy in playing bingo and FarmVille, video chatting with family, and riding around on her scooter. One of her greatest wishes was to obtain her driver’s license so she could explore anywhere her heart desired. She had a unique enthusiasm for life and a heart full of love for her friends and family. To know Connie was to experience her warm, unconditional love and the genuine happiness she felt when someone thought of her.
Connie’s warmth, spirit, and love will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and that her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at Serenity Memorial Chapel in Belleville, Illinois, on November 29th, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor her life. In lieu of flowers, we are accepting donations to help cover her funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small would mean the world to us as we navigate this challenging period.
