My name is Patrick Hackett. I met Connie and Doug when they lived in Metairie Louisiana outside of New Orleans. This is way back in 1972.. I went to the Mardi gras with the love of my life and drove there in a Volkswagen van from Miami Florida. We crashed in the van in downtown New Orleans but I needed extra money so the Lord called me for some reason to travel to metry and knock on mobile home doors and ask them if they wanted their mobile home washed. It was definitely an immediate connection put together by the Lord. We were made friends for many years. I was in the rock and roll business and did many rock and roll concerts in Miami with major rock stars. I moved to South America and spent 40 years off and on in Paradise. I have often thought about Connie and Doug throughout my life. I would very much like someone from the family to reach out to. She was an angel in the flesh and so was Doug.
It is a small world. While reading the obituaries in the San Juan Record, I came across hers. Her father, Cecil Milam, was my grandmother's (Josephine Milam Broderick) nephew. My sister, Rebecca Crowder Cole, remembers Cecil stopping by the house in Sullivan, Indiana ro visit with the family. I remember my mother, Doris Broderick Crowder, telling me that cousin Cecil had moved to Monticello, Utah in the 30s or 40s (?). So, condolences from a distant cousin.
I was so sorry to hear of Connie's passing. She was a wonderful nurse anesthesiologist. Even though we were not close, she always had a smile. We did do one trip to Lake Powell and had alot of laughs. She will be missed❤❤
