Connie's obituary
Connie was born to Delbert and Genevieve and raised in Hales Corners, WI and lived in Muskego, Wisconsin Dells as well as various KOA Campgrounds around the country. Connie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Darryl Sr, and her two sons, Darryl Jr (Olivia) and Daniel, brothers Les (Linda), Larry (Annette) and sister Barbra (Ken) Marx. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Rae, of Darryl and Olivia. She graduated from Whitnall High School and spent her early working years at State Bank of Hales Corners. While working at the bank she began bowling at Hales Corners Bowl and Tri City Lanes which led her to meet Darryl Sr. She bowled for many years at Tri City Lanes with her family, even joining a league with the boys at Chalet Lanes in Wisconsin Dells after moving there from Muskego in 1995. Before Tri-City Lanes was sold, she helped run numerous house tournaments, including the Pro Am tournaments at the PBA national tour stop in Milwaukee at Red Carpet Celebrity Lanes. After ten years of living in the Dells and working at the Visitors and Convention Bureau and UPS, she and Darryl Sr sold the property and hit the open road. The next ten years were spent working at KOA campgrounds throughout the US. Stops and stays included Colorado, California, New Mexico, Florida and Wisconsin. In 2011 Connie and Darryl settled in Live Oak, northern Florida, and maintained work at the KOA in St Pete Beach. Having fully retired in 2015, they spent their time making home improvements and traveling back up to Wisconsin to spend time with their granddaughter. In March of 2020 Connie suffered a severe stroke that left her partially paralyzed on her left side. She had been going through rehab and suffered another stroke that took her in her sleep May 23.
Rae’s future and education was very important to Connie. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation for “Rae’s Education Fund” which can be made out to Darryl Schaber Jr.
A memorial for Connie will be held on Tuesday, July 6th from 4-7pm at Classic Lanes in Oak Creek at 7501 S Howell Ave.
