Connie is my mother’s cousin, and my sister and I were quite honored to be flower girls in her wedding. For years the photo of us in floral blue and yellow dresses, layers of chiffon, the fanciest dresses we’d ever worn, sat in my mother’s dresser. And I do still remember that day.

Connie was genuinely this sincerely sweet soul who made me feel like a million bucks every time I saw her...and that was just not often enough, given how far away she was for most of the family gatherings we attended in Illinois. So when she was there, it was a tremendous and rare treat.

I will forever remember her that way...and send my love to her girls...from all of my girls and me. 💗
