Connie's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Dunham-Harrison, a cherished mother, partner, beloved daughter and friend. Born on May 3, 1968, Connie left us far too soon on July 23, 2023.
Remarkable for her strong, caring, and outspoken personality, Connie was a beacon of perseverance. Her guiding mantra: "Where there is a will, there is a way," reflected her unwavering determination and inspired those fortunate enough to cross her path.
Connie was proud to serve her country, having joined the military in 1992 and, over the course of her career, received the Army Service Ribbon, Marksmanship Badge Rifle M-16, National Defense Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for her dedication and commitment. She continued this strong dedication to her work everywhere she went and those who worked with her looked up to her as a mentor and a strong representation of what true work ethics look like.
Later, Connie graduated from the University of Idaho in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts. This degree allowed her to pursue her love for archaeology, which she often referred to as one of her great passions. A lover of travel, one her favorite destinations was Ireland due to the rich history and archaeological wonders she was able to discover there. Her curiosity for ancient civilizations was only matched by her love for spending time with her family. When she wasn’t traveling the world for its historical significance, she would enjoy a more lighthearted version of history and entertainment by going to performances at Medieval Times - Dinner and Tournament with her family to share in the joy and laugher of experiencing a touch of the past together. Another lifelong passion of Connie’s was singing; she was blessed with a beautiful voice that will be missed dearly. She would write her own songs and during long car rides we would request songs she wrote and sing them together as a family growing up.
Her love for family was unparalleled. She was a wonderful wife to her partner Daniel Harrison since their marriage on September 9, 1990. A devoted mother, she helped raise her stepchildren Theresa Peterson, William Harrison, Serena Harrison, and Valerie Neff, and raised her loving children Jessica Harrison and Johnathan Harrison, with kindness and wisdom, reminding them always that she was the glue that held them together. Connie had a deep love for her ten grandchildren and her newly added great granddaughter who was fortunate enough to visit her just prior to her passing. She is also survived by her mother, Linda Dunham who she was exceedingly close to throughout her entire life and would always call for their daily phone date at noon. Connie was predeceased by her father, Howard Dunham.
A funeral service for Connie will be held on August 7, 2023, at 12 PM at Yahn & Son Funeral Home & Crematory in Auburn. There will be a viewing on August 7 at 10-11 AM, at the same location. Connie will be laid to rest at the Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn on August 7, 2023, at 1 PM, and there will be a reception to follow immediately after at Yahn & Son Funeral Home & Crematory.
Connie's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the precious memories that her loved ones will forever hold dear. Her greatest legacy will always be the love and resilience she instilled in her family.
