Connie was born on December 1, 1946 to Andrew Carver and Pauline Hogan Carver, the first of 3 daughters (Janette and Tamara born later). She was saved in her family's church: Tulare Missionary Baptist. She attended Maple and Garden Elementary Schools, Mulcahy Junior High, and Tulare Western High School (graduating in 1964).
