Connie Claire Bates, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019. She was born May 31, 1935, in Colorado, to Harry and Oma Rice. She married Larry Bates on March 1, 1957 and spent the majority of her life with her family in Westland, Michigan. Connie loved spending time with family and friends. She opened her heart and home to everyone she knew. She is survived by her children, Gayla (Keith) McLeod, Ed Bates, Staci Bates, Greg (Dawn) Bates, and many grand and great grandchildren.

Family and friends whose lives Connie touched are invited to a memorial mass in her honor at 10:00 am Saturday February 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wayne MI. Followed by a Celebration of Life/luncheon at Angelo Brothers Restaurant on Ford Road in Westland starting at 12 noon.
