Colleen's obituary
Colleen Joyce Wiebe, born on December 6, 1934, in Carthage, SD., passed away on November 11, 2024 at the age of 89 in Mesa, AZ.
Colleen's faith was first and foremost in her life and she shared the love of Christ throughout her nursing career.
Colleen was a proud alumna of St. John's Nursing School in Huron, SD. She dedicated 52 years of her life to the nursing profession. She served in just about every capacity from charge nurse, to supervisor, to helping open a hospital.
Colleen was known for her ability to laugh and make others laugh, her sense of style, and her compassion to think of others before herself. She carried her passion into personal interests, which included singing in church choir, volunteering for Stephen Ministries. writing poetry, reading, and cooking.
Colleen is survived by her husband, John, of 68 years and a large, loving family: children, Steve, Nancy (John), Patricia, (Tim); grandchildren, Suzanne, Jessica (Brandon), Jared, Steve Jr. (Erica), Nicole (Kevin), Jon (Charity), Ashley, Brittney; great-grandchildren Ariah, Rosalee, Xander, Anthony (Shobi), Alexis (Dismand), Domenic, Isaiah, Gabriel, Arianna, Elwynn, Jenica, Rhiley, Devin, Camron, Ryker, Milli, Kyli, Alex, Kaegan, Noah, Kai, Avah, Lily; great-great-grandchild Adriana, and adopted family members Pam, Charley, and Danny. Colleen was preceded in death by her father Bruce, mother, Dorothy, stepfather Glen, brother, Bill (survived by Lois), and grandson Christopher.
Colleen's life was a testament to her enduring kindness and unwavering commitment to serve others. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and were impacted by her love.
