Happy Heavenly Birthday Sister Colleen!
I recall at least a couple special birthday events of hers I had the honor of being invited to. The room was full of joy and laughter, good music and dancing and her special guest... a room full of colorful people cause that was Colleen! God gives us Gifts and she absolutely had the Gift of Hospitality of which she embraced whole-heartedly and took to the next level always! I love her open praise before the Lord singing in the choir or just sitting in Sunday Services! You were truly a witness for others to see how Great is our God! I can only imagine the Crown of Life God has for you! "God is Good"

I will miss my sister in Christ. The few years that I spent with her in the choir was such a blessing to my heart and life. I will ALWAYS remember her beautiful voice as she strongly sang her tenor part and her lovely smile as she wore her red lipstick looking like the best dressed and prettiest Auntie that showed up to the BBQ. But most importantly, I will remember the bangles she wore on her wrists and the laughs we shared as me, the alto singer, sat next to one of the most beautiful souls anyone could have the pleasure of knowing.

I know that you have found precious new moments being in the presence of our Lord.

May our God keep those who hearts you have touched so dearly.

Sister Colleen's love for our God was a bright light and a great witness to so many! She was a classy woman who did all things with style and grace. I am going to miss her great praise and beautiful heart for others! Praying for God to comfort her family and give them His peace that surpasses all understanding! It is well with her soul! This is hard and joyful in unexpected moments and in little things; like when I arrived at city hall to sing for a community event recently. The mayor’s office provided parking and an escort came to the passenger side window which is stuck, some shortage in wiring. He had to open the door to talk with me, tell me where to park, etc. I smiled to myself b/c several times when I gave my dear SisterFriend a ride, and those who knew her know she was always hot, 😆, she’d press the button for that window and before I cd say it doesn’t work, it worked perfectly, only for Colleen, down and right back up.
Many times over the yrs she rode w me and every single time it worked for her. It was hilarious to me and Colleen just took it in stride. “Girrrrl,” she say.
It never worked when she wasn’t there and has not since the last time I saw her, when my Son Lamont and I took her and DeeDee to the airport.
She loved us and she knew we loved her. It doesn’t get better than that for any of us.
