Colleen Ruth Yates (née Casey), 56, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away surrounded by the support of loved ones on September 10th, 2021 after a difficult battle with ovarian cancer.

Colleen was born on August 24th, 1965 to John Casey and Elizabeth Michie in Key West, Florida. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1983. Though giving birth to no children of her own, Colleen helped raise three step children and was very close to their children, who all loved her and knew her as "Grandma." Colleen was passionate about family and her rich Celtic heritage, and loved researching and educating others on her family's history.

After spending most her adult life running her own successful cleaning business, Colleen settled down and enjoyed her last years to the fullest by spending her time with family and her closest friends. Despite her own battles, she always managed to live as worry-free as possible. Always loving and laughing, she was the light illuminating any place she walked into.

Colleen was predeceased by her father, John Casey; mother, Elizabeth Michie; and brother, Brian Casey. She is survived by her aunt, Ruth Spece; uncles, Jim Michie and Dick Michie;  brothers, Sean Casey and Kurt Cripps; sister, Mary Huntzinger; nieces, Leilani Gee, Briana Huntzinger, and Faith Cripps; nephews, Michael Huntzinger, Evan Casey, and Connor Casey; daughter, Andrea Aden; and grandchildren AJ, Brenna, Shailyn, Branson, Braydon, and Kaydence.

An informal celebration of life will be held at Southeastway Park (5624 S Carroll Road, Indianapolis, IN 46163) on September 26th, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to American Cancer Society.
