How many times in one life can a person find a friend like you.

Someone who listens, who doesn't evaluate or judge, but just listens.

Sometimes I rattle on and I know or feel something coming from you.

It's new, it's different. I feel that I'm OK, I'm perfect the way I am; that's your message.

I feel strong. I have the ability to discover on my own the answers to my own dilemmas.

Whatever answer I choose is perfect and right and correct for me at the time.

I feel heard, I feel cared about, I feel accepted and affirmed.

All this is new for me and I'm grateful even as I'm not sure what to do with this new experience.

And, I'll figure it out.

I live down the street from Colleen when she lived on Fleming in Oakland CA.  Our kids did things together which set the stage for a friendship between us.  I always appreciated Coleen's gentleness. Watching her and Bernie was a demonstration of how a healthy relationship could be. I was a better parent from observing Coleen. She was fun and gently funny. I'm grateful she came into my life. I visited her several times when she moved to Oregon and appreciated the contact so very much.

Being able to share my pregna…
2015, Somerville, MA, USA
Being able to share my pregnancies and babies with Grandma was one of the most special things in the world. I remember when I was pregnant with Juni, I talked to her on the phone all the time. She told me how much she had loved being pregnant - she loved "having a little buddy" with her all the time. Babies and children were such a huge part of her life and she was amazing with them. You couldn't ask for a better grandma.
