Clint Paul Bissell, 73, of Clearfield, Utah passed away on July 4, 2023, surrounded by family.
Paul was born to Sherman Wayne & Ruby Bissell on February 24, 1950, in Pineville, Louisiana. Paul was raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, and spent much of his growing up years with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paul met Sharon Flarence Keysor in June 1975. They married on August 31, 1976. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on October 12, 1977. Paul and Sharon grew in their love and support for each other, while raising their 4 children.
Paul enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on February 13, 1970, in which he served for 20 years. During this time, Paul served in Germany, the Philippines, South Korea, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, Paul continued to work as an electrician at various job sites, as well as tried his hand at a variety of other career adventures, such as working with the postal service, and as a school-bus driver.
In his later years, Paul enjoyed spending his time volunteering at Antelope Island, volunteering as a reading tutor at the local elementary school, as well as delving into an array of Family History work. Paul spent over 40 years in various positions within the Boy Scouts of America organization, in which he was honored with the Silver Beaver. Paul also enjoyed volunteering in various positions with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Bissell, in 1980; his father, Sherman Wayne Bissell, in 2001; his wife, Sharon Bissell, in 2019; and his son-in-law, Brian LaFontaine, in 2021.
Paul is survived by his children: Chris (Rebecca Quist) Bissell, Grant (Annette de Figarelli) Bissell, Clint (Jolene Thompson) Bissell, & Danielle Bissell LaFontaine, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandsons. Paul is also survived by his sister, Beverly Colthorp, and his brother Bruce Bissell, and Paul’s beloved dog Trixie.
Paul’s final wishes were for his body to be donated to the University of Utah for medical research, and for his remains to be interred (along with his spouse) at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park.

Paul’s family will be holding a “Celebration of Life” event on Wednesday July 19, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint chapel at 1469 West 700 South, Syracuse, Utah. Memorial displays and visiting with Paul’s family will be available from 1:00 - 2:15 pm, with a service being held at 2:30 pm, followed by a military ceremony.
