Cleo's obituary

Cleo passed away the morning of December 18, 2025 at Penn Vet Ryan Hospital in Philadelphia. Cleo was found hobbling down the street in South Philadelphia in early 2024. She had an injured leg, was very skinny and dirty and frostbite took the hair on her ears. Cleo was taken in by Stray Cat Relief Fund and quickly found a wonderful home with her foster mom, Alyssa.

Alyssa posted Cleo, then called Lottie on facebook. I immediately fell in love with her and I knew it was fate because my childhood nickname had been Lottie. Cleo came home to me on March 30, 2024. She hid for about and hour or two but then quickly conquered my bed (and heart). The first few days Cleo and I just spent in bed, cuddling. Unfortunately it became clear quickly that Cleo is sick. She was diagnosed with IBD and a heart murmur. Especially her IBD had been a big struggle, I could tell she was feeling uncomfortable at times and it was hard to deal with alone. Cleo still did well, she found her favorite spot on top of the couch, where sunlight hit her in the morning. In the winter time, she loved her heated pad and cuddled up on it. But my favorite thing about Cleo was her little chirps and her morning cuddles. Often in combination. A usual morning for us was Cleo jumping on my bed, chirping at me, trying to get my attention and then cuddling up next to me.

Unfortunately over time, Cleo developed more and more health issues and subsequently passed away from complications related to surgery. Cleo was my absolute soulcat and I miss her so much.

Cleo‘s favorite things were belly rubs, churus and cuddles. She hated going to the vet and other cats. She was a spicy Calico at times but also endlessly sweet.
