Claudia's obituary

Claudia Marie Garcia, 91, of Rosedale, NY, passed away on December on December 19ith, 2015 after a battle of colon cancer.

Claudia was born on December 13, 1924 to Andrew and Martha in Panama City, Panama. She was the second oldest of five children. Claudia was born in Panama but raised in Trinidad because her family moved to Trinidad when she five years old but sadly in 1939 her father died of a hart attack and that affected Claudia and her family. Claudia was employed as a nurse and she eventually meet her husband of 32 years the late George Garcia. In 1948 she meet George Garcia at a party. They saw each other again at a anther party and that time they fell in love and in 1950 they married.
Claudia and George had four children: Gary, John, Evan, Mary; 9 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren. Family was really important to Claudia because she thought that family should stick together and should help your family members and she taught her children about that. In the beginning of April 1964 Claudia and her husband and her children and her mother moved to Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn New York after a couple of visit and they just decided to move their. Claudia Retired from nursing in 1973 but in 1981 George and Claudia divorce but they remain clos friends and sometime people will think they are married because they still lived together and in 2003 Claudia and George moved to Rosedale Queens New York but sadly in 2004 she lost her husband do to a car accident on a bus then sadly 10 years later Claudia was diagnose with Colon cancer and she was battling with the cancer until the doctor could not do much more and so the the doctor told her children ''to just be by her side and just wait for her death'' and they did until she died six days after her 91 first birthday. Claudia was predeceased by her siblings and her parents and her husband She is survived by her children her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. A celebration of life of her life will take place on Friday January 1 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Paul Lane Funeral Home, Inc. Queens New York following the next day a wake will be held at St. Philips Episcopal /Anglican Church Brooklyn New York from 11:00 am to 11:30 am and she will be lie to rest the same day at The Evergreens Cemetery from 11:43 - 12:43 on Saturday January 2.
