Claude Gilbert. Born on January 1, 1934, in early Georgia Claude departed this world on July 3, 2023. He was a devoted man, beloved by many, known for his stern yet loving personality, often infused with a touch of goofiness that made everyone around him smile.
An avid fan of fried fish, grits, and swiss cheese, tuna salad extra onions ,Claude's love for food was well known. His palette always welcomed a refreshing sip of Mott's apple juice, his particularly favorite drink. He was a man of simple pleasures who found profound joy in everyday life's small moments.
Claude was passionate about several activities in his leisure time. He was a fan of TV shows, especially Mash, football, and NASCAR. In fact, he was an ardent follower of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dominoes and cards were his games of choice, often leading him to spark friendly competitions among family and friends. Fishing was a favored pastime, offering him the serenity and peace he cherished. He also took great pleasure in local spots, particularly NASCAR #24 Jeff Gordy.
Claude was predeceased by grandparents Anna and spencer Jackson , parents Anne beard and elige Gilbert , his spouse, Hilda Roberts, his daughter Trisha Anne Gilbert and son Claude Gilbert jr
Claude's legacy will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Glinda Gilbert, Barbara Jean Gilbert, Brenda Gilbert, Tina Gilbert, Faith Gilbert, Claudette Gilbert, Annette Gilbert-Lee, and Alison Gilbert and His son, Anthony Gilbert, 30. Grand children and over 20 great grand kids will remember him as a pillar of strength and love.
Fondly remembered by his family and friends alike, Claude Gilbert's life was filled with cherished moments, teaching us all the essence of love, strength and resilience. He will be deeply missed, yet his memories will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
