Clarence's obituary
Clarence Raymond Johnston was born June 19, 1941 in Blackwell, Ok. He passed away at home on February 14, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years; Shirley Johnston, six children, Charles Johnston, Debbie McMillian (Johnston), Pam Harkins (James), Kevin James, Diane Lindquist (Johnston) and Stephen Johnston. Clarence had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One brother Ricky Johnston and one sister Sandra Johnston. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; Pauline and Clarence Johnston, sister; Sue Andrews Johnston and daughter, Patricia May Johnston.
Clarence joined the United States Army in 1958 where he served much of that time in Germany. He was discharged in 1963. He was a Master Electrician who serviced many different counties through out the states of Kansas and Missouri. He also taught electrical classes at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. Thousands of men and women were taught and trained by Clarence on how to move further in their careers as electricians.
Clarence was a kind hearted and loving person. He never knew a stranger and would do anything for any one during a time of need. He never failed to play practical jokes on whomever, whenever and wherever he had the opportunity. He enjoyed building model trains and collecting autographs and had quite the collection to show for it. He was a loving husband and an amazing father to all of his children. He was sincerely loved by all of his family and friends and he will be dearly missed.
Clarence was laid to rest on March 1, 2022 at the Leavenworth National Veterans Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
