Clarence's obituary
On the morning of February 17th, 2023, Greg passed away at Chester County Hospital after years of lengthy illnesses. If anyone had nine lives, Greg sure did.
Greg was born on January 24, 1960, in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Ward B. Burnside and Elma Heywood (Day). Greg was a graduate of Great Valley High School class of 77’. He went on to earn his master plumbing license at PSA PHCC Plumbing Heating Cooling Training Center. He went on to work for the family business Ward B Burnside & Co., then on to own his own plumbing business.
After Greg could no longer work fulltime, he lived life to the fullest and was always on the go.
He was most happy riding a motorcycle and tinkering with anything and everything. He had a passion for collecting knives. You could always find him at thrift stores, resale shops, yard sales, always shopping for that deal. He would pick things up for members of the family all the time, regardless if they needed it or not. Greg was a proud father, but he was most happy being a grandfather. “Pop” will forever be in his grandson’s hearts.
Greg is survived by his son Joe Burnside, daughter in law Elizabeth and grandson Caleb of Murfreesboro, TN, as well as his former wife Katie Broomall-Burnside and his stepdaughters Cheyenne Hall, Autumn Stacey and grandson Grayson Stacey. Also, his former mother-in-law and roommate Barbara Slider, his stepsister Patricia Rindler of Munich, Germany and her children Phillip and Daniela. Also, niece Leah Kacanda (Laura) of Wilmington, DE.
