Clara's obituary

Clara Larson Hocker
Bedford
Clara Larson Hocker, 89, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born February 24th, 1931, daughter of Edward and Sarah Larson of Beaverdale, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by husband, Eugene Hocker; sister, Sally Larson; sister, Inez Brewer; and her parents.

She is survived by her five sons: Lynn and wife, Michelle; Ed and fiancé, Rosalie; Scott and wife, LaDonna; Ron and wife, Sue Ann; and Steve and wife, Lisa.; twelve grandchildren: Doug, Kathleen, Drue, Sarah, Sean, Ryan, Emma, Evan, Lane, Olivia, Alyssa, and Addison; and five great-grandchildren.

Clara graduated from Beaverdale High School in 1949. She met Eugene while attending Penn State University and the two wed in State College in 1954. Moving to Bedford in 1970, they decided to raise their sons in this beautiful town.

With five boys in the house, Clara never knew how many friends were spending the night but always had a hot breakfast waiting for them. She never missed the morning crossword, loved to play pinochle, and made the best homemade bread. Clara, a quick-witted and amazing woman, will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Special Olympics of PA Bedford County, P.O. Box 287, Bedford, PA 15522, in memory of Clara Larson Hocker. A celebration of life in honor of Clara will be taking place at a later date this coming summer.
