Cindy Rose Pope was born on August 20, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Nellie Pearl Gitchel and Edgar Leroy Smith. She passed away on December 12, 2025.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Pearl Gitchel and Edgar Leroy Smith, as well as her siblings Jerry Rine, Patrick Smith, Michael Smith, and Denise White.

She is survived by her children, Kristie Higginbotham-Hogue, April Hogue, and Jarid Pope; her four grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cindy will be remembered by her family for her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and for the love she shared with those closest to her.
