Chris's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Ross Wank, affectionately known as Chris, who passed away unexpectedly in Foley, Alabama, on January 2, 2024, at the age of 40.
Chris was born on September 7, 1984 in Mobile, Alabama. The enormous hurdles he conquered in life created a man with great determination and tenderness that can never be forgotten. Chris was a welder by trade, but would help or do anything that was needed of him without hesitation. His smile lit up his face. His arms carried a strength that would force a smile on your face when wrapped around you. He was a great inspiration to those that were close to him and could never be forgotten for all he brought into our lives.
Chris held a deep respect and love for his late parents, Danny Ray and Alison (Wank) Ray, who preceded him in death. He often spoke of how he missed his mother very much. In her honor, he made it his job to look out for and protect the women and children in his life.
Chris is survived by his five brothers Robert McDonald, Keith Ray, Paul Ray, Stephen Ray, and Cameron Ray. They will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and will carry him in their hearts forever. In addition to his brothers, Chris leaves behind extended family and many friends whose lives he touched deeply.
A celebration of life will be held at Mars Hill Church in Mobile, Alabama in the coming week. The service will be officiated by his brother Robert as a tribute to Chris’s legacy.
Although Chris’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion and determination in all that we do. His light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
May his memory be a blessing.
