Christopher's obituary
Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of Christopher "Chris" Sachtleben, who has left us on August 21, 2023. Born on the Christmas day of 1954, Christopher added to the joy and cheer in every room he entered with his artistic flair and love for his family.
Christopher was a precious son to his parents, the late Alfred Doherty and Marianne Briggs. He is survived by his doting children, Elizabeth Dean and Christopher Sachtleben; his loving siblings, Lois McClendon, Mike Doherty, Dan Doherty, and Tammy Bilski; his warm-hearted ex-wife, Linda Dillingham; his supportive brothers-in-law, Raymond McClendon; his respectful son-in-law, Kenneth Dean; and his nurturing daughter-in-law, Tatiana Sachtleben.
A doting grandfather, Christopher leaves behind memories of joy and laughter to his grandchildren, Destin Gillinger, Jacob Burke, and Alexandra Sachtleben. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was trips to his favorite vacation spot, the Frio River, or sipping his favorite drinks, Sweet Tea and Dr. Pepper, while indulging in their lively chatter.
Christopher was also known as Chris but preferred Christopher. He pursued his passion for Acrylics and sculpting, turning anything plain into something beautiful. This could be considered a metaphor for his life, as he made every day brighter for those around him. An avid lover of Pink Floyd, Sade, Bob Dylan, and Fleetwood Mac, his eclectic taste in music is a testament to his vibrant personality. An enthusiast of John Wayne movies and Lonesome Dove, he also shared an inside joke related to (Shane) with his daughter, leaving her with cherished memories and laughter to remember him by.
Christopher was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and spent his free time riding his motorcycle. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. The family will remember him as a true inspiration and pillar of strength, even during tough times.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Christopher will be truly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace, free to ride the open roads and fish in the tranquil rivers of heaven.
