Christopher's obituary
Christopher (CJ) was born on September 27, 1986 to Edwin D. and Christine L. Roniger. Although, born in Long Beach, CA, Chris would reside in Louisiana his entire life. He attended East St. John High School in LaPlace and would later go on to receive his HVAC Certification. Chris worked along side his father, Ed, for 8 years, as a Service Technician at J&J Heating and Air. Chris and Ed shared many miles and many laughs in that old work van. The pair would eventually start their own business and would work together until until Ed’s death. Chris eventually settled in Baton Rouge and would continue in the HVAC field until his passing.
One paragraph will never be enough space to accurately describe who Chris was and why we loved him. Family was extremely important to him and you didn’t have to be blood to be considered family to him. Chris had an empaths heart and always tried to give more than he had taken. From stopping to help stranded drivers, to taking in every stray he ever met. Chris was hilarious and could make you laugh until you cried, with just a look. And he would have never said so but, he was a very handsome man and could charm the drawers off of ya with little to no effort. He could always make the best out of a bad situation by finding the silver lining. At his core, he was just an all around nice guy.
Christopher is survived by his younger siblings, Michael and Elizabeth Roniger, and niece Jazmine. They all adored CJ, and are completely heartbroken. They will love him and miss him forever.
The family would like to express their love and thanks to Lexus Edmonson for being there for Chris for the past 7 years and for blessing him with Little Leia. He was so looking forward to being a father. She was born July 9, 2020 and instantly became “Daddy’s Girl.” Although, Leia was only here for a short while, Chris was deeply affected by her passing. It was his wish to be cremated so that he and Leia could be joined together forever. Christopher fell asleep on earth, but when he opened his eyes, he saw Heaven and his little angel Leia was there to hold his hand and guide him home.
The family would also like to acknowledge Lexus’s entire family, and offer special thanks to her mother, Leslie Edmonson, her grandparents, Emory & Janet Granier Rivero, whom Chris affectionately called “Maaw & Pawpaw,” her Brother, Will Edmonson (Kelsey) and niece and nephew Aurora & Able. Thank you all for loving Christopher like he was one of your own, for always being there for him and for always trying to guide him towards the right path. We know that your family helped Chris through some of life’s most difficult challenges. He was so blessed to have all of you as a constant source of love and light and for that, we will be forever grateful.
Christopher’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
