Christopher's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Jerome Nichols in Portland Oregon on December 11, 2025.
Chris was born to James and Susan Nichols in Oak Park, Illinois on October 21, 1970. He and his family moved to Hurst, Texas in the late 70's where he attended Richland High School. He then went on to the University of North Texas where he received a Bachelors Of Arts in English. He lived in the Dallas-Ft Worth area for many years working as a bartender and manager at many beloved restaurants, night clubs and pubs.
He is survived by four wonderful sons Brennan, Beckett, Finnegan and Ronin, as well as his mother Susan and brothers James, Michael, Andrew and Kevin. He would also want to include his aunts, uncles, cousins and especially his countless friends who shared his spirit, held him up and were an impactful and important part of his life.
Chris was many things! He was a writer and a poet, a lover of books and authors and the written word. He had of late become particularly interested in history, documentary and obscure biography. Chris was an indefatigable, lightning fast, joyful and fearless soccer player. He loved flying down the field and taking on adversaries head first. He was bright and witty, funny and heartfelt. A great talker, he cherished meeting new people and spending time with old friends. Chris was also a great fan of sports, the Chicago White Sox in particular, and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of sports facts and trivia. He was sparkle-eyed, mischievous, challenging and ornery, always rooting for the underdogs, anti-heroes and the unsung. Chris left us entirely too soon with much left that he will not get a chance to do.
Please leave your remberances here. We are planning to hold a memorial to celebrate Christopher's life in Dallas, Texas in the spring of 2026.
