Chris's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce that Christopher Michael Williams, 46, passed away on the morning of September 2, 2024, in San Francisco, CA.
Chris lived his life to the fullest and was a light to everyone he met. He was the life of any party. He was witty, brilliant, loving, and sensitive. He enjoyed music and was an avid concert goer. He had a passion for pushing the boundaries of fashion. He loved collecting things from art to shoes to records. He was raised as a military brat and traveled all over as a child including Puerto Rico, Florida, Arizona, and finally the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where his family settled. He attended college in New Orleans and fell in love with the city. As an adult, he was never afraid to move to the next place, and constantly tried to better himself in his career of retail. He had stints in Atlanta, Knoxville, and finally San Francisco, which he called home. He added individuals to his family with each new city. He will be sorely missed by so many.
“I think that one of these days," he said, "you're going to have to find out where you want to go. And then you've got to start going there. But immediately. You can't afford to lose a minute. Not you.” ― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Williams; brother, Ronald L. Williams, Jr.: grandparents, Ruth M. And Rudolph A. Williams and Betty Green and Leland “Buck” (Lavone) Green: and his great grandparents, Kate and Ollie Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Becaise.
Chris is survived by his father, Ronald L. Williams, Sr. of Gulfport, MS; his partner Christopher Watts of San Francisco: and many close friends that were more like sisters and brothers.
A private service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
