Christopher's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher O. Macpherson, born on April 15, 1956, who took his last breath on April 13, 2024 in Poway, California. He was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Christopher (Chris) leaves behind a loving family, including his son Chris Macpherson (Sammie Macpherson) and his daughters, Jennifer and Melissa Macpherson (Derek Smith). He was proud of his beautiful grandchildren, Maxwell Guzman and Olivia Macpherson. He is also survived by his devoted brother, John Francis Macpherson III. Chris was predeceased by his parents, John F. Macpherson Jr. and Mary Bentley Macpherson Depew, and his brother, Robert Bentley Macpherson, whose memories he always cherished.
Chris grew up in Florida and Illinois and was a graduate of Lake Forest Academy, in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Chris was a proud owner of the Green Gables restaurant in Hudson, IL with his wife, Julie A. Macpherson from 1982 to 1989. Their marriage later ended in divorce. In 1989, Chris began his tenure working at Mitsubishi Motors until 2006. The remainder of his career was spent in industrial positions both in Illinois and California.
Chris was a man of simple taste but one who savored life's joys. Among his favorite foods were Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and a Green Gable's Cheeseburger. His love for sports was unmissable, with the Miami Dolphins being his favorite team. At Christmas time, Chris loved to dress as Santa both at community events and making surprise Christmas Eve visits for his children.
In his spare time, Chris could often be found indulging in his favorite recreational activity - golfing. The golf course was his retreat, a place where he found peace and calm.
Chris's absence will leave a void in our lives, yet his spirit and the memories we created with him will remain in our hearts forever. He loved to laugh, and he was constantly interested in the world around him. No one who knew Chris will ever forget him.
A private service with family with be held for Chris. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Christopher's honor to Chestnut Health Systems (1003 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Bloomington, IL 61704).
