Christopher's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, Christopher Lee Hooper, 54, of Laconia, NH on November 3, 2024.
Born in San Diego, California on August 21, 1970, Chris was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Hooper, and survived by his sister, Maury Hooper, sons, Jesse (Andrea) and Trevor (Melissa) Hooper, and his grandchildren, Ethan, Ashlynn, Elise and Raven Hooper.
Those who knew him well knew that Chris loved his family above all. Growing up, we split time between our father’s house and our mother’s house. After working long hours and surely exhausted from working a 12 hour day at the restaurant, our dad consistently made an effort to make the most of our time together. Whether it was pickup basketball at Wyatt Park, a bike ride, a trip to Bartlett Beach, or staying inside to listen to music and play video games, he was there for it. Life wasn’t perfect and neither was he, but we never questioned his love for us or the priority that he placed on spending time with us.
There are many values and lessons that he passed down to us. He was an incredibly proud father and our biggest cheerleader. He instilled in us an outrageous sense of pride and confidence that is honestly tough to describe. In his eyes, we could do anything and beat anyone at literally anything. We were super human simply because we were Hoopers. Even his grandchildren repeat the family motto “Hoopers are winners”. To this day, he has set an impossibly high bar that we strive to meet when it comes to cheering on our own children.
While his life has been marked by many struggles, this is his true legacy - that he loved his family deeply. Even though he is gone, we are proud to say that his fingerprints are all over our family in an unmistakable way. May he rest at peace in the grace of God. ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28
