Christopher Carl Hoffmann of St. Louis, Missouri, died Friday, January 3, 2025. He was 56 years old.

As a child, Chris loved being outdoors—playing in the sandbox, fishing, looking for bugs. He was curious and exceptionally smart. As an adult, he was good with his hands and enjoyed creating, building and fixing things. Displaying multiple intelligences, he often  solved problems effortlessly. Where others struggled to see, he had vision. Having spent his entire life in the St. Louis area, Chris was rich in friends and acquaintances there.

Chris is survived by one daughter, Lexie Elizabeth Hauskins, Decatur, IL. Chris was extraordinarily proud of his daughter. He enjoyed attending events that celebrated her and her achievements. 

He is also survived by one sister, Anne Elisabeth Hoffmann, Stevens Point, WI, and many cousins living across the country. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Faith Elisabeth Piepkorn Hoffmann (d. 2012) and Richard “Dick” Erwin Hoffmann (d. 2023).  

The family appreciates the exceptional care provided by Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Mid-America Transplant Association and Lamplight Donation Services. Furthermore, they are eternally grateful for the myriad people who generously looked out for Chris over the many years, providing him with attention and guidance.
