Christopher's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christopher Haarsgaard, who left us on April 1, 2025. Born on January 21, 1969, Christopher left an indelible mark on the world through his diligent and persistent commitment in his personal and professional life.
Christopher was a man of intelligence and determination, renowned for his hard work. His perseverance was reflected in every aspect of his life, including over 25 years of experience working in hospitality and his achievements as a restaurateur. As a high-level manager and director of restaurant operations, Christopher demonstrated the depth of his capacity for leadership and his unwavering dedication to his craft.
Despite his commendable professional achievements, Christopher’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment by far was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Riley, Rayna and Devin; and survived by their mother (his ex-wife) Jennifer Wray. His love for his children was palpable and unyielding, mirrored in the lessons he imparted to them; lessons that primarily included holding onto hope and finding joy in life’s small pleasures.
In his downtime, Christopher was an avid cook who enjoyed experimenting with gourmet meals. The joy he derived from crafting these culinary delights was only surpassed by the pleasure he found in sharing them with his loved ones.
The legacy Christopher leaves behind is rich and enduring, built on a foundation of hard work, resilience, and love for family. May his memory be a comfort and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Christopher was laid to rest on April 7, 2025 at the South Salem Cemetery in New York, located in the town where he spent his happiest days with his family.
