Chris's obituary
Christopher Leon Friedt was born in Billings, Montana on September 16, 1948, and grew up in Burien, Washington. An avid downhill skier, scuba diver, water skier, and traveler, Chris had a deep love for water and nature, always finding solace and joy in its embrace. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and exploring new places, continually nurturing his adventurous spirit.
With his beloved wife, Chun Ok, by his side, Chris traveled the world, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Whether visiting their daughters in far-off lands, exploring deserts on camelback, or taking cruises with friends, their shared journey was filled with love and laughter. Chris, ever the passionate diver, sought out opportunities to scuba dive during their explorations, transitioning from the frigid waters of the Puget Sound of his youth to the tropical paradises around the globe as he embraced retirement.
After guiding their daughters through the milestones of college, Chris and Chun Ok found another shared passion – dancing. Their graceful moves and boundless energy led them to win competitions and delight crowds at parties, weddings, and events.
As a dedicated servant of his heavenly Father, Jehovah, Chris’s devotion to his ministry and the message of God’s Kingdom and a paradise on earth remained unwavering. He looked forward with hope to his resurrection and everlasting life on a paradise earth.
Chris's talent for working with his hands was evident from a young age. As a gifted mechanic, he and his friends delved into the inner workings of cars, often driving too fast and reveling in the thrill. His love for tinkering and restoring old cars continued into adulthood, where he found joy in restoring old cars, mending broken things, and helping his daughters with repairs during visits.
With a fondness for travel, cruises, old western novels, lounging by the pool, savoring new foods, and spending time with his beloved wife, Chris's life was one of simple yet profound pleasures. His unwavering love and dedication to his family were evident in every interaction, making him a devoted husband and father, favorite uncle, a cherished brother, and a dedicated grandfather.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and kindness. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Chun Ok; his two daughters, Christina and Pamela; their partners, Ryan and Sean; his grandchildren, Asa, Caleb, Emily, and Maclin; his brother, David; his sister, Linda; and countless nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
