Christopher John Berner 67 of Leesburg Florida passed away peacefully on Febuary 3, 2026 at Cornerstone Hospice House Clermont Florida. 

  Christopher was born on January 13th 1959 in Elmhurst Illinois to Norbert and Marie (Leonard) Bernerand was raised in Bensenville, Illinois   A skilled machinist by trade, he dedicated  35 years of his career to Northrop Grumman in Palatine, Illinois  He  took great pride in his work including his contributions to the  production of the B-2 bomber and valued the responsibility that came with holding a top secret security clearance.  

  After retirement, Chris fulfilled his dream of moving to Florida,  where he built meaningful friendships and embraced an active, relaxed lifestyle.  He enjoyed spending his time golfing, fishing and captaining many memorable pontoon trips with  family and friends

   He is survived by his wife, Brenda;  his stepdaughters,  Brianna Goen of Chicago, Miranda and Chance Lisik of Tampa; daughter Melanie Smith of Montana; and his siblings Sharon Moudry of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Dave and Charmane Berner of Gilbert, Arizona; Dennis and Kathy Berner of Sammamish, Washington;  James Berner of Duluth, Minnesota; Thomas Berner of Forest Lake, Minnesota; and Laurie Berner of Duluth, Minnesota. 

  A celebration of Life will be held at the Okahumka  Eagles Club #4273 on Sunday March 1, at  3 p.m.
