On Monday, November 1, 2021, Christine Wanja Githumbi, loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away at the age of 28.

Christine was born on December 9, 1992 in Mobile, Alabama to Damaris and Joram Githumbi. She moved to Houston, Texas when she was one years old, where she subsequently attended Mission Bend Elementary, Hodges Bend Middle School, and George Bush High School. She received her B.A. from Sam Houston State University in 2015.

Christine had a passion for music, especially AfroBeats, and was a great dancer. She also loved children, and worked as both a babysitter and day care worker. Christine was known for her sense of humor, infectious smile, and her sweet spirit.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Damaris and Joram. She is survived by her older siblings, Timothy Githumbi and Ruth Githumbi, her nieces, Adrianna Githumbi and Soulenne Githumbi, her brother-in-law, Mario Velasquez, husband Daniel Okobi, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
