Christine's obituary
Christine Sue Olson-Linihan, 62, of Mattawan, lost her battle with cancer and was called home to be with the Lord on June 1st, 2023 at her home in Mattawan, surrounded by loved ones, with her daughter and husband by her side. Christine was born March 2nd, 1961 in Paw Paw Michigan, the first of three daughters of Albert E. Olson and Judith Kay (Lammon) Olson. Christine was a 1979 graduate of Mattawan High School, where she enjoyed playing Softball, Volleyball and Cheerleading. She attended Parsons School of Business after Graduation. Christine began her working career after high school as an accountant at the First Federal Bank of Paw Paw, and then went on to work at the Stryker Corporation where she met Michael Linihan in 1984. Christine and Michael dated off and on for four years before deciding to tie the knot at the First Congregational Church in Mattawan on September 17th of 1988. Together the two of them welcomed their first and only daughter on June 8th, 1995. Christine is survived by her husband of 34 years, Michael M. Linihan, her daughter; Victoria J. Linihan, her step-daughter; Sara R. Linihan and her step-son; Gary M. Linihan.
Christine was a beautiful soul and a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by several Aunts and Uncles, her two sisters; Kimberly Olson, and Sandra (David) Olson-Sexton, her nieces; Megan (Ritsema) Byard, Chaise Rogers, Jessika Rogers, and her nephew; Albert John Olson-Rogers. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shae, Bailey, Donavan, Ashton, Brayden, Emma, Grayson, and Karson along with her one and only great-grandchild; Brinnley Rose.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. and Judith K. (Lammon) Olson, her grandparents; Fredrick and Elizabeth (Phillips) Olson, Robert Lammon and Elinor Osborn, and her cousin; Cynthia Puzevic. A celebration of Christines life will be held on Friday June 9th, 2023 from 2-5pm at the Antwerp Township Activity Center, Front St. Mattawan. Food and drinks will be served. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Centrica Care Navigators – Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
