Christina's obituary
Christina passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Thursday March 25th, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas.
Christina was a beautiful young woman who lived a full and vibrant life with many dear friends. Her family, fiancé, brothers, sisters, grandparents, uncles, nephews and nieces meant more to her than words can describe. Her beauty on the outside was only surpassed by her inner beauty, and her loving, warm and compassionate nature made her a devoted friend and loved one to everyone she knew.
Christina was born on July 25, 1986 in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Carol and Dennis Maldonado. She was a beautiful and loving child full of life and creativity. She loved music, art, sports, riding dirt bikes and photography. In 2004 she graduated from Ronald Reagan high school in San Antonio, Texas and in 2008 returned to Florida to attend college. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Fine Arts degree in Photography and soon began her own photography business. Christina was a talented and gifted photographer and she loved the opportunity that photography gave her to express her creativity and her eye for capturing the beauty of the world around her.
Christina is survived by her mother, Carol Lastinger (John), Justin, TX; her father Dennis Maldonado, Austin, TX; brothers Gareth Lastinger, Justin, TX; Austin Maldonado, Austin, TX; sister, Lindsay Maldonado, Dallas, TX and brother, Tyler Maldonado, San Antonio, TX. Stepparents Rick and Kim Cowherd, San Antonio, TX; Grandparents, Rod and Marie Roderus, Ormond Beach, FL; Edith Maldonado, Ponce, Puerto Rico; Ray and Kathy Lawrence, South Daytona, FL; Tom and Diane Kunzer, Orange City, FL; Aunt, Leslie Sanderson, Tulsa, OK; Uncles, David Maldonado, Puerto Rico; Jeff Roderus, Port Orange, FL, and Thomas J. (TJ) Kunzer, New Smyrna Beach, FL and her beloved fiancé, Austen LeDoux, Port Orange, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 16th at 5:30pm located at the Kenneth Parker Amphitheater, 2001 City Center Cir, Port Orange, FL 32129. This will be a celebration of Christina's life and all of those that knew and loved her.
Please dress casual and comfortably for mid-May in Florida, it may be warm or rainy, so please bring an umbrella.
The event is outdoors, so masks and social distancing are optional.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to organizations that support those struggling with addiction.
