Christie Shawanna Howard, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. She was a devoted mother to Lexi Lashai Howard and cherished her time with loved ones. She was a member of True Light Worship Center, attending regularly until her health declined. Christie had a natural warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met.

She was born to Juanita Howard Holland and the late Rodney “Rocky” Howard on July 14, 1975. Christie grew up in a close-knit family that included her sisters and brother: Keisha Clark (Jimel), Narcisse “Noonie” Burchell (Jordan), and her brother, Tracy “Tayda” Lambert (Patrice). She held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephew, Jimaya Clark, Ari Burchell, and Cassius “Cash” Tillman.

Christie was passionate about spending time with family and filled her days with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. She enjoyed reading, writing, watching her favorite shows, chatting on the phone, dining out, and visiting the casino. Her presence brought joy and comfort to her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.

Christie is preceded in death by her father, Rodney “Rocky” Howard; her grandmothers, Anna Lou Ricks James and Octavia Dennis Howard; and her grandfathers, Felton James and Frank Howard. Her legacy will live on through the love and memories she created with those who survive her, including a host of aunts and uncles: Donna Gail Howard (Melvin), Roddy Howard (Arleen), Wayne James, Shirl McNeil (Leon), Elverina Clark (Jeffery), and Gilbert Howard.
