Chrissy's obituary

Christiane S. Kimerer passed away quietly in her home, surrounded by her family, after a six year battle with breast cancer. She is at peace now and celebrating with all her loved ones that went before her. She lived in Excelsior Springs, MO with her husband of 16 years, Jay Kimerer, he survives of the home, their three dogs and her much loved chickens.
She was born in Saarbrücken, Germany and was raised by her Oma Meta Stamm, until January of 1977, when her health prevented her from taking care of Chris any longer. Chris' aunt Rita and Uncle L.C. Hawley from Kansas, USA brought her home to live with them and their three daughters and soon adopted her as their fourth daughter. She started school in Basehor, KS as a 7th grader. Since she only spoke German, the school district brought her aunt Rita (who was originally from Germany) in as an interpreter. They sat side by side for the rest of her 7th grade year. In 1982 she graduated as one of two valedictorians in her class.
Her lifelong passion was her German Shepherd Dog Club which she devoted much of her free time and energy to. She owned many champions and companions over the years, and was so excited and proud when she achieved a first in her breeding program when she bred, finished and owned her first ROM bitch Trinket. Chris was a member of the GSDC of America for 24 years and a lifetime member of the GSDC of Greater Kansas City. In 2019 she was awarded the Don Cliff Good Sportsmanship Award from the GSDCA.
She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her Oma Meta and Opa Herbert, her biological mother Marlies, her adoptive mother Rita, and countless beloved pets.
