Christian's obituary
Christian Edward Wise, known to all as "Chris," passed away on February 11th, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on March 25th, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, Chris grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and graduated from Southwood High School. He continued his education at Texas State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After college, Chris moved to Dallas, where he resided for the past 30 years and built a successful career as the President of Ameritex Petroleum, an oil and gas company.
Chris was an avid Dallas sports fan and cherished his role as a devoted father and family man. He loved attending his children’s extracurricular activities and spending time with them, whether it was taking them to sporting events, enjoying nice dinners out, or going on vacations to the beach. His children—Dillon, Mackenzie, Macy, and Maddox Wise—were the light of his life, and he was incredibly proud of their accomplishments.
Chris was deeply involved in his church community, particularly at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where he led Alpha community groups, and Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, where he was a dedicated supporter. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he lived it through service to others.
A larger-than-life figure, Chris had an open-door policy, always ready to offer a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or a good laugh. Known for his infectious sense of humor and loud, unmistakable voice, Chris lit up every room he entered. His distinct cackle will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. These traits even earned him a spot on MTV’s Ridiculousness TV show, where he appeared with his son, Maddox, during a hilarious water balloon prank.
Chris’s love for life extended to his beloved pets, with whom he shared his home. He adored his French Bulldog, Zeke, his cat, Emmy, and the pets of his children—Dak, Coco, and Snuggles. He lovingly referred to their home as "The Wise Ranch." His family and friends will always remember him as a "more the merrier" kind of man, whose heart was as big as his personality.
Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Cunningham, and is survived by his father, William Wise; his older sister, Sabrina Gilbert; and his four children.
A memorial Mass will be held on March 7th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. The service is open to the public, and all are welcome to join in celebrating Chris’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Chris’s honor. Chris’s memory will live on in the laughter and love he shared with all who knew him.
