I wish I had a chance to see Chris before he died.  We knew each other as kids and I was hoping to do a project with him as adults after seeing his work on wine and champagne bottling.  He was a good friend, and taught me how to snorkel, as well as get around in a place where I didn't speak the language.  We were a good pair getting around in Paris at the ages of 12.  My Junior High French allowed me to read signs, and he understood what I was saying well enough to translate.

Chris broke my leg while we practiced soccer, age of 12 I think. It was definitely an accident! But I think because of that accident his arents generously invited me to join him on the summer trip to France. I felt like family with all of his relatives. It was an experience that changed my life. Chris was a true friend who I had hoped to see again, and am so saddened to hear of his passing. I have toasted him tonight with a nice Italian red.
My taste for reds came from that trip. His uncle would pour red wine for us kids diluted with water. It was food to accompany the meal and to help enjoy the flavors. I remember you all, Janet and Luc, and am sad to hear Lucien has passed away, too. Both of my parents are gone, too. But we always remembered how your family included us in your lives.

Chris Troussieux, I am happy to read about your wonderful life. I have missed you.

In response to "What made Christian different from most people you know?"
I will never forget our wonderful trip to Bodega Bay when Matt and I were still only a year or so into dating. Chris and the entire family were so welcoming and generous. I remember the wine glasses they brought and traveled with - for the different types of wine of course, the crab we consumed - where Claire, Ann, Erin  and I hid downstairs playing our own version of pool while Chris and the guys “prepared” the crab, to the games and laughs we all had. I left feeling truly welcomed and grateful for this family and couldn’t wait for the memories to come.
To Ann, Claire, and Remy:  Our deepest condolences on your loss.   - The Molinari Family.
