I decided to look up a friend I had not connected with in some time to find this very, heart breaking news. I am so very sorry to know that Christian has passed- my heart goes out to the Castro Bros. and whole family. He was heavy in my thoughts this week and I have been off social media for some time now. One day after school, in the short period of time I was away from the computer I was using, Christian Castro signed me up for the Madison Mustard Museum's mailing list. 18 years later, it remains a consistent reminder of his sense of humor. When I've migrated email accounts since then, I've resubscribed out of tradition, even if I haven't opened the email itself for years. I was able to visit the museum a few years ago before his passing and thought about him the entire time, but didn't reach out. I wish I did. Much love to a kindred goof and the Castros during a hard year.

So very sad to hear of Christian's passing. I was so fortunate to have met him through speech and hung out with him my last two years at Shepard. The last time I saw him was in LA about 9 years ago, he came with me to a punk show even though he didn't know the band and it was a blast. We went out to eat afterwards and just caught up with each other.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. He was an all around amazing person and my memories of him will always bring a smile to my face.
