Chris's obituary

Chris Jon Stutsman, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on April 23, 1962, in Rockford, Illinois, Chris spent his life as a shining example of humility, kindness, and selflessness.

Chris is remembered for his strong work ethic as a dedicated Maintenance Technician, always approaching his job with diligence and care. His passion for learning knew no bounds, particularly in his fascination with science and religion alike, which he eagerly studied and shared with those around him. Chris was a man of diverse interests; he found joy in reading, music, and playing the banjo. He cherished every moment spent outdoors, whether it was fishing or enjoying the beauty of nature. A lover of animals, Chris had a gentle spirit that extended to all creatures great and small.

Chris’s family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great joy in creating lasting memories with them. Above all, he was dedicated to spending time with his wife Shannon, showing his love for her and putting her happiness first.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis and Donna Darlene Hoel Stutsman. He is survived by his wife, Shannon; son, Aaron; daughter, Abby; 3 sisters-in-law, Sally, Stephy and Beth; brother-in-law, Scott; niece, Madeleine; nephews, Christopher, Cory and Alec; and several extended family members and friends.

In celebrating Chris’s life, the family will hold a memorial service to honor his memory. The service will be held at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home in Lewisburg, TN on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, beginning with Visitation at 1:00 PM with Memorial Service to follow.  A reception with food will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Chris Jon Stutsman may have left this world, but his legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
