Spangler, Chris Jack – June 8, 1949 - Dec 8th, 2023, Formerly of Flint, Michigan, age 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 8th at his home in Lake Stevens, Washington. Cremation has taken place. Chris was born in Flint, Michigan on June 8th 1949, to Geraldine (Stoddard) and Jack Spangler. Chris was a 1967 graduate of Hamady High School and proudly served his country as a helicopter Crew Chief in the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service & Campaign medals, and the Combat Infantryman Badge for his service. Chris was an avid outdoorsman that found peace and solace in wilderness where he enjoyed fishing, flying his drones, metal detecting, golfing, and almost anything else that involved being outdoors. He also loved to draw. Two things Chris never wavered on were his faith in God and the love he had for his three children, whom he is survived by: Jeff (Christine) Spangler, Chad Spangler and Kristin Spangler; and his five grandchildren, Cameron, Ella, Waylon, Chase and Shelby. Chris is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Peggy) Spangler, many nieces and nephews, and his dear friend Sally. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Geraldine, and his brother Keith Spangler. A celebration of Chris's life and Military graveside service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetary in Holly MI on April 19th at 1 P.M. with Pastor Jim Reid officiating.
